John Fox
JFKU's
John Fox Elected President of National Association for Poetry Therapy
Certified Poetry Therapist John Fox is an internationally
known poetry therapist and teaches in JFKU's Graduate School of
Professional Psychology and in the Arts & Consciousness Program
in the Graduate School for Holistic Studies.
Fox has been affiliated with the National Association
for Poetry Therapy (NAPT) for the past 17 years. A former recipient
of the NAPT's Distinguished Service Award, Fox will serve as president
of the assocation for the term 2003-2005. He conducts poetry and
healing workshops and is a consultant to hospitals, religious institutions,
colleges, retreat and arts centers. He also presents in the United
Kingdom, Ireland, Canada and Israel.
Fox is the author of Finding What You Didn't Lose:
Expressing Your Truth and Creativity Through Poem-Making and Poetic
Medicine: The Healing Art of Poem-Making. He also has a chapter
"Poetry Therapy: Healing the Within" in the forthcoming
publication The Healing Environment, and a chapter entitled "The
Leaf Shape Remains" in Archetypes of the Collective Unconscious:
The Healer Dancing With the Healing Spirit.
